Writer’s Problems

It’s strange for me to be a writer… especially being a writer who also is looking for a job/working. It’s hard to control when story ideas come to me. Sometimes it’s in my sleep, sometimes it’s when I’m just sitting there. It’s at random intervals. As it stands, I have something like 6 stories to write.

Here’s the problem. I’m not always around a place where I can just write. Sometimes I have to hope that the idea’s not fleeting.

I’ve been lucky so far. I’ve remembered them enough that I could write a general premise for me to work on later.

So, now I almost feel like I need to be in a flurry of writing. Which is great. I love being able to write more often. If I could only write as a living, that would be ideal.

Realistically, that just doesn’t work very well. Writing doesn’t necessarily make money. Sure it would be great to make money doing what I love. Who wouldn’t want to do that? That’s why people spend years in school to become a doctor or a lawyer or a business person. So, why wouldn’t I want to be able to spend my day writing and get paid for doing so.

However, that’s an impossibility. I know that. I’m realistic.

So, I’m taking the time now as I’m looking for work to spend my time writing. I hope to at least get through a good part of the 3 part story that I’ve written. Then, it’s time to move on to another story.

I must say, that I enjoy being able to write at whim. Too bad it just doesn’t pay the bills.
